My Rides
I now have four bikes, having added a new one to the mix in early 2010. My main training bike is an Ellsworth Moment. The Moment is fairly light for a big hit trail bike, weighing in at 29 pounds. I ride the Moment nearly every day. Details of my Moment follow:
2005 Moment with Fox DHX Coil Shock
XTR Cranks, Dérailleurs, brakes, cassette, pedals etc.
Fox Talas RLC Fork
Chris King Headset
Easton Monkey Light XC Handlebar
Thompson Elite stem and seat post
Selle Itallia Saddle
Bontrager Race Lite Wheels
Kenda Nevegal Tubeless Tires
My race bike is an Ellsworth Truth. The truth is reasonably light for a full suspension bike at 24 pounds, but it is almost as much fun to ride as my Moment. Details for the truth are:
2008 Ellsworth Truth with Fox RP23 Air Shock
XTR Cranks, Dérailleurs, brakes, cassette, pedals etc.
Fox F-100 Fork
Chris King Headset
Bontrager stem, seatpost and handlebar
Selle Itallia Saddle
Edge Composite Wheels
Geax Saguaro Tubular Tires
I also have a cross bike: a Colnago Woldcup Cyclocross bike. I bought this bike on eBay so I could commute to work. I got a really good deal on it so I can’t complain. It even has pretty good components, with FSA cranks, stem, seatpost and handlebars, Ultegra group and Mavic wheels. I may never understand the appeal of CX, but if I get the itch, at least I will have a bike I can race.
2009 was such a bad year in so many ways. I promised myself if I got through it I would buy a real road bike that I could ride for hours and forget the pain. I bought a Pinarello Dogma. Here are the details:
2010 Pinarello Dogma 60.1 (Black on Black)
Dura-Ace Group and pedals.
Richey Stem
Pinarello Headset and Seatpost
FSA handlebar
Selle Itallia Saddle
Rolf Prima Wheels
Continental Grand Prix 4000 Tires
