Cholla is not the perfect course for me. It is too flat and it tends to favor big power riders. It was really fun this year though. All the snow and rain made the course nice and tacky, and the sun came out just enough to make it not too cold.
I took 5th place, which is two spots better than last year. After two races, I am doing better overall than last year, but now it is time to finally get serious about training and get ready for the May push.
I felt pretty good off the line. I was right behind Brad for the first half mile or so. Then a bunch of people passed us. It seemed like five or six riders, but they must have all crashed or something, because Brad ended up third and I was only two spots behind him. One thing is for sure, I need to work on my starts.
